The rest of Scotland – 5 September – 8 September 2011

We left Edinburgh and headed toward Inverness which is the town next to the famous Loch Ness. On the way we stopped in the highlands at none other than Dewar's World of Whisky, which is a Scotch Whisky distillery. We did a good whisky tour, and they had a little museum of the history of Dewar's which was great. We also had a whisky tasting – had a little dram of their 12 year old single malt. A dram is basically a tot (or shot if you are that way inclined) as far as I can tell. We also had a glass of 25 year old cask whisky. Yes a glass!

London, Peterborough, Manchester and Blackpool, England – 27 August – 3 September 2011

As one would assume, we were completely exhausted after the 37 day tour, and spent two days in a hostel in London sleeping and not doing a whole lot else. We then decided it was a good time to pay our friends Tameela and Dan in Peterborough a visit, so caught a train (wow trains in the UK are so expensive) and stayed with them for a few days. Peterborough is famous for their cathedral. Now I've seen a lot of cathedrals in Europe, and this one definitely stacked up well against the best.

Well here we have it folks, our last stop of Contiki! And where better to finish a good trip like this than in a party city? Our first stop before we got into Amsterdam was at a place called Cheese and Clogs, and there they made.. well.. cheese and clogs!
